Having lost my husband to suicide in 2013, after his life-long battle with depression, I’ve become a passionate advocate for mental health support services and awareness. We must remove the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide so that the people who struggle are able to open up and share their experiences, and thus get help.

Stephanie Chandler is based near Sacramento, California. She is mother to a young son, and has a home full of rescued pets (well, not too full!). She serves on the board for Friends for Survival, a nonprofit organization that supports families in Northern California who’ve been impacted by suicide loss. She also recommends the Alliance of Hope, an online community for those impacted by suicide.
